The power of words, which can move even the hardest soul to cry, is truly astounding.

Eva Cassidy's version of Fields of Gold may be better than Sting's but there's no question that Sting was the composer of the song. It's a beautiful song and both Sting's original and Eva Cassidy's cover are great.

It totally disgusts me that Sting tried to rip off Eva Cassidy with his version.
She wrote this song about her childhood, and Sting RUINED IT!!!!
SHE SHOULD SUE HIS ASS OFF, HER ORIGINAL VERSION IS FAR FAR SUPERIOR.

Sting wrote this after he bought a house near a barley field. The sunsets and the colours of the field were an inspiration for the lyrics, along with his love at the time. Eva was the one who recorded the cover version...which I actually prefer

This was played at my Nan's funeral last week, it was her favourite song and i was so proud of how far she came and then suddenly she just slipped away, when this song plays I always cry because it reminds me of her and how lovely she was, she was my best friend and nobody could ever replace her... i love you so much Nan and i promise i will make you proud forever <3

God looked around his garden
And He found an empty place.
And then He looked down upon the earth,
And saw her tired face.

He put His arms around her,
And lifted her to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
