It won't be easy, but it can be done. Neil's guitar is a 1953 Gibson Les Paul with a Gibson Firebird pickup installed in the bridge position and the stock p90 pickp in the neck position. You could get an epiphone les paul for around 400 on ebay and an epiphone firebird pickup wouldn't be that much.
@rockon236 The real key to Neil's setup is his amp. A 1957 Fender Tweed Deluxe with oversize tubes to give it that crunch and bite. There aren't really any of these left unless you're willing to sell your house to get one. Fender also makes a reissue version but it is not the same, and costs reduculous money so what I would suggest is a Fender Blues Deluxe. They run about 800 and change and there are used ones everywhere.
In this particular clip Neil's guitar sounds worse/better than ever!
