peace thanks for posting this i was 6 years old when this came out so i had never heard it i saw it on the crdits for voodoo dangelo is a genius for it but kool and the gang are the real ones

Imagine, these cats were in their late teens and early 20's when they recorded this album. So much talent and their message was about love and respect, not thuggin out and blinging. This is what the industry needs to promote again, not the fluff heard on most top 40 stations.

The problem is that the industry doesn't care about the music - they care about hype, ratings, popularity, and money. I want to blame the industry for making commercialism paramount, more important than music or talent, but the blame also lies on the mainstream consumers. I think that the industry shaped the consumers and created the market we have today, but I think that we have the power to break that and turn it around.

Power to the people, not the industry. *pumps fist*
