this has to be one of the most inferential beats of all time, paving the way for all modern day beats, let's look back for were it all came from

I first heard this in 1986 as a sampled beat in Sweet Tee's seminal hip-hop single "It's My Beat." At the time I had NO idea is was by the soul godfather himself James Brown, until a couple years later. Between James Brown and Zapp, I think the hip-hop nation the last 25 years has sampled JB most.
