Sung in German by a French singer against a backdrop of Russian paintings by Nikolai Sverchkov. A veritable slumgullion! Just as in the classical Mulligan stew, this juxtaposition works!

very nice. I like the version by Elissa Gabbai too.
The paintings are wonderful. There is a Canadian painter by the name of Cornelius Krieghoff who has a similar style and subject matter. If you wanted a more authentic Canadian ambience, Krieghoff would do, but the Russian painter is fine. The winter scenes are much the same in both countries.
Indeed! And why not? It adds to the fun, nicht wahr? BTW, are you an English Quebecker or a full-blooded Canuck Quebecois? If the latter, you could add, "as noticed by a smiling and sly Quebecois".
