Basically when you take heroin, it stimulates the dopamine reward pathway, a system within the brain that makes us feel euphoric. The more we adjust to this feeling and become used to it, the more heroin we need to get high, and then the more the body is under pressure by the opiates that heroin releases.

Seriously, no. Think of how rock stars are always, always dying of heroin overdoses. And it isn't fun while you're dying, either, except while you're high of course. Though some people throw up all the time while they're high, but the drug keeps functioning, so I assume they're some version of happy even while they're puking their guts out. Heroin is really hard on the body, is what I'm saying. It'll kill you a lot faster than cigarettes.
