They are one of the origins of rock n roll, and an excellent piece of music of boogie-woogie.
Bill Haley has also covered and sung in 1959.

I was going to Univ So Calif and we had a pep rally before USC-Notre Dame game. Stars of the rally were Pegg Lee and Dave Barber and Louis Jordan. Don't remember who won that Sat......but what a rally. It was held at the Shrine Auditorium across the street from USC.
