You know I just got the transatlantic sessions dvd for Christmas. If there was nothing else on it apart from this I'd be happy. JM was a true soul brother. And I love this version more than any other.

This man was a genius, he could sing anything - his voice always sounds like it comes from the very centre of him. He had Soul, big time.

I'd loved to have heard him sing some of the Muckle Sangs, the great Scottish Ballads, but he would never have been constrained by what anyone thought he "should do".
