i have that same "drum machine" !

i modified mine with parts from a telephone.
it looks like crap, but makes many of the same sounds! :-D

There are quite a few DIY analog drum circuits on the web. It depends on your taste, budget, etc,etc. Check out the DYI synth sites, as people are always posting GREAT info!

HA HA! I consider that a great compliment, as I grew up watching the old Tom Backer episodes. Thanks.. kinda does have those pulsing drones. Well, Delia Darbenshire, who put the old sounds together to make the theme, used recorded tape loops.
there is a documentary around on the BBC radiophonic workshop where she worked that is really amazing!
