you said it your self, Elephants are very cautious animals. this ads support to my conclusions here. they didn't look that startled, mot like alerted and cautious.
proof? how do you know it was fear and not caution alone? do you really know that much about the inner workings of a pachyderms mind to make such a solid claim? Even the myth busters agree that this does not 100% prove it.
I don't believe the Elephants avoided the mouse out of fear, but out of caution alone, they didn't want to step on the mouse. The Elephants did not appear to show any signs of genuine fear. what I saw as the Elephants showing caution, knowing that they are big, and mouse is small, they didn't want to step on the mouse.
