I knew that i loved his voice in the studio versions of his songs...but live. Oh my God. A voice straight from Heaven. Beautiful. I'd love to see him live someday.

Nice to see Love there. And of course the Velvets - who were such a self admitted influence on Beck himself. There are a couple of albums I have not seen before that I will take up, so thanks. Incidentally where do people stand on midnite vultures. I wasn't a fan at first release but I have been listening to it the ast few days and I think its pretty damned good. Just too esoteric for people to embrace. Tracks like Milk and Honey, sexx laws and of course debra - are great and unique.

Jared - Well I have very good limited taste (ha) but you really have great "music diversity" which I so dearly lack. There is a lot of new stuff I haven't tried and will probably never try. Honestly, I can't say I know Veedon Fleece but just know Astral Weeks is a remarkable record (I stopped listening to Van probably not much after Saint Doms Preview). I listened to the Lion inside of me to quote Van and moved away from him. Only once in a while will I like him e.g. "Natalia"

Well Astral weeks usually makes the lists. I am well into Van Morrison - and I think Veedon Fleece is his unsung masterpiece. Taking nothing away from Astral weeks though. Its just a matter of taste, and I personally prefer Odelay to Sea Change.

That's cool. Odelay was easily the greatest of Beck's eclectic albums, and I still have a special place in my heart for it.

Nah it was me I was being a jackass (a great Beck song in itself). and I did know that Blood on the tracks is the name of the album, just a mistake. I love capt beefheart - although I have to say my faves are lick my decals off and shiny beast (bat chain puller). Owed'T Alex - what a song. Joy Division are great and Good call with Dinosaur Jr, I even have a soft spot for thier new stuff. I did not mean to sound so arrogant. and I can see now you know your stuff. so take my apology.
