If VIU had an art degree they would fill their classes in a heartbeat and that would be good for Nanaimo and good for old MALU. I can't see why it is not in place. In this Cultural Hub City there are artists around every corner!

I wonder how many potential art students would enroll if we had a BA MAJOR for Visual Arts...since we have photography, ceramic, painting, printmaking, programs that offer a full range of studio classes. WOW what a drawing card this would be for people who want to study for a paid career in the public art sector???

BECAUSE...we are having major political issues regarding arts programs. Programs were approved for applied graphics and interior design...visual arts programming got kicked to the curb by ministry of advanced education. Check out the above video response...PLEASE support us!

FULLY aware of the ongoing political issue with the Visual Arts degree designation. I have personally written letters in support of the application to all the appropriate government officials. I also encourage others to do the same!
