I've never beaten Metroid, I didn't own it though, a neighbor did and he let me borrow it. I love it but 9 time out of 10 I have no clue where I am going or where to go...now that I got it on virtual console I'm dedicating myself to beating it finally.
wow electricpuppy Im glad to see Im not the only one who thinks Kraids music is so awesome. I was humming it to myself at a bbq a few months ago when a complete stranger walks up and says "...is that Metroid?"
wow i thought i was the only weirdo out there with an odd obsession with Kraid's theme. Haven't heard this music in about 20 years and I find myself whistling and humming perfectly along as if i've been playing it every day since the 80's.... interesting how the human brain files things like that away.
For those who don't know Hip Tanaka's work, he created music for this game along with Kid Icarus, Dr. Mario, Super Mario Land, Wrecking Crew, Balloon Fight and Mother aka Earthbound Zero. He also created everything in the original DK arcade game, he wrote the sound effects, music and he even setup the amplifers in the DK arcade machines!
