Я бы сказал, не по русски, а по сибирски. Эта манера взята из манеры исполнения кочевых народов Мордвы, татар, которую периняли и казаки. Чисто славянская традиция несколько отличается.
Сибирские песни, вообще отличаются от Русских. Тут свободы много и самостоятельности. Что-то джек-лондоновское. С детства очень люблю эту песню. Когда слушаю её, то как будто бы смотрю сквозь серо-синий кристалл и перехожу в каое-то иное,чистое, неземное пространство.
