yep, well there most likely is something else out there. at one point we thought the earth was flat, then we thought we were the center, then that the solar system was the entire universe, now we are at a time where the 15 billion lightyear expanding universe is believed to be all that exists. but theres something else out there...
Yegorletoff: I read your comment with interest. I does not surprise me that you are "very disppointed". The disappointment does not come from lack of satisfactory arguments or answers. It comes from within you; please look deeper. The question(s) concerning whether God exists is not the hurdle, but the moral implication for believing that God is remains. That is, the issues is a moral one, NOT intellectural or existential.
I might accept that nothing can come from nothing. But I still don't see why there must be an almighty being to cause the universe to exist. I don't see any mandatory logical connection. It's a classical red herring. And this comes from "the finest Christian apologist of the last half century"??? (Wikipedia) If that's all - I'm very disappointed
Yeah. It's a tough question. We may never know. But that's not to say: oh... well we don't know what happened, so god did it. OBVIOUSLY, right?
And it is a false dichotomy whether you admit it or not. Regardless of how much you say it isn't or insult me concerning it doesn't make you any more correct. Do some research on false dichotomies first.
I'm sorry. I know I wasn't going to say anything more, but since this isn't about false dichotomies, I figured I'd outright say it. I never said it did itself. I said we don't know. I'm with Feynman when he said "I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers which might be wrong." That concludes everything I'm going to say about this.
What is the differance between saying "the universe is not eternal" and "the universe came from nothing"?
If u say the universe (being the totality of existence) is not eternal then u are NECESSARILY saying that it came from nothing.if it didn`t come from nothing then it`s still eternal, right???
And with that, I'm out. I'm not going to argue anymore on a concept (false dichotomies) you don't understand and haven't bothered to research. So, likely you'll feel like you have to have the last word, and fair enough. Go ahead and have it, but know that everyone who really knows how false dichotomies work is laughing at you.

How about we don`t know what happened,so it did itself? u don`t seem to have a problem with that one.
Actually,it is.
Either everything is ultimately the result of teleology or self organization.this is also an absolute dichotomy :)
