@ZhangtheGreat

no i don't believe that 20 years from now today's kids gonna say what we are sayin' 'cause consider that today's kids don't like their cartoons and wish they liven back in the 80's,did you ever heard from an 80's child sayin' "i wish i was born in the 60's" for example? no cause 80's where the golden age of cartoons and if you want a simple example,just look th effort they put back there in just writing the music for the cartoon and look now,80's are unique,always be my friend

@ZhangtheGreat and AmericanEvita i agree to a point with both of you, i'm a mixed kid, i was born in 1989 but i was still watching cartoons in 2000, and even now i watch cartoons with my son. The Cartoons we had when i was a young child and the ones they have now are much different, but only in their structure, my cartoons were all about teaching lessons and learning, the cartoons now for young children (3-6) are mostly about problem solving and for the older children, pop culture.

It's mostly still psychological. You got used to the entertainment from your era and when you see the way it's changed, it doesn't appeal to you as much. Or, if it hasn't changed, it becomes beating a dead horse.

LOTS of kids these days LOVE what they can get on Saturday mornings. Maybe there are few that you know, but that doesn't mean they don't exist in large numbers. 20 years from now, we're going to hear them say the same things you and capthowdy are saying.

Yes & No. Yes it is psychological and personal. But you can't say that the 20th century and the 21st (our current one) aren't different. They are different. Therefore - so are the cartoons. Please look at the cartoons of the 20th century including the ones of the final decades of the 80's & 90's. Now look at the cartoons from 2000 to 2009. What a major difference! I'm proud to have been a kid of the 20th century - with better cartoons than today's garbage!

By 20th century cartoons I refer to the classic Betty Boop, Lil Lulu, Popeye, Looney Tunes, Merry Melodies, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Hanna Barbera Cartoons. These are 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. These came before cartoons of the 80's/90's, but they span the 20the century. Major difference btwn them and today's stuff. It was the 20th century that was the Golden Age of Cartoons.
