Politiki Kouzina 2003. The year is 1963. There is trouble brewing in Cyprus. The Greek citizens who live in Konstantinoupolis, are being deported, back to Greece and their property is taken over. Fanis and Saime are falling in love. Bad timing. Fanis likes to cook and Saime likes to dance. To get her to dance, he gives away his secret ingredient for the perfect meatballs; he whispers in her ear: "cinnamon". Love, despite the world falling apart around them, recognizes no political, religious or ethnic barriers. Saime, comes to the railway station, to say goodbye to Fanis and promises: "to come to Greece and visit him." Tasos Mpantis is outstanding, as the bigger than life grandfather, who influences young Fanis and commands the respect of all for his wisdom. Upon his arrival, to Greece, Fanis, bitterly observes: "The Turks deported us because we were Greeks and the Greeks accepted us like we were Turks." An inconvenient truth. Takis Zervoulakos was the cinematographer and Tasos Boulmetis, who was born in Konstantinoupolis, wrote the Spartan scenario, from a story he knew well and directed a great film, that pulls no punches.

I wanted YOU to know.......... We Greeks in the US are very much aware of the Greek Community in Florida. A few years ago, N.N. VA, the youth, the dancers were there. I only heard the best from Greeks and Americans.
It must be really frustrating with the ugly comments on your video. I just wanted to know there a lot of Greeks that can see beyond the point we were taught. I guess some never make up their own minds about the world. Turks are not enemies Big Brother is the one, along with ......... They don't want us to get along why let them win? At the end of the day, your neighbor will give u a hand!!!!!!!!
I repeat exactly what Ang3os76, wrote. A part that touch me the most was how the Greeks welcomed them as Turks. I am sure thats how they wil react again if all the diaspora came back home. Ti krimas!
