think again, lats and rhomboids should only assist in stabilizing the weight, but this guy is jutting forward to get out of that position, he moves his head and shrugs his shoulders. This is called compensation, it is extremely hard to completely isolate a body part or musclegroups in any lift, nevermind in a total body workout.

Could be some diff with a barbell in high squat position vs d-bells. Center of gravity will differ. Foot distance from bench should vary from set to set or session to session. Closer in should be some easier. Imagine what Vladimir Marchuk could have done in this exercise. A great deal.

Great exercise!
Just wondering how heavy can this guy go on the conventional squat?

Hmmmm. Pretty cool. I will try these, as I have a 50 lb. weighted vest. Click on my name to see how I rehabilitated myself after a torn pec using the weighted vest.

I suffer from sarcopiasmic hypertrophy? I'm amazed that you can psychoanalyze me just because I'm smart enough to know that the pecs are not involved in his lift no matter what you do.

Have you ever touched a barbell in your life?

There is a good chance you will never be any stronger than you are right now.

Setting aside that this lifter cheats himself by using upper body muscles to make this lift, since he's using too much weight, the lifter suffers from the wrong stance.

In this lift, never should the knee come over the foot as you see here.

Because he's using too much weight, he's shortened his stance to cheat and make the lift.

The right way to do this lift is to put your leg first on the bench and then hop forward as far as you can with the leading foot.

If the knee doesn't come over the foot, the Quadriceps will not be trained as effectively.
