bill hicks is honestly one of the most enlightened people ever to live. when i first listened to bill hicks he honestly scared me and i thought he was fucking crazy and in some other reality and made me feel shitty about life, but soon after i learned how incredibly smart he really was. he is one of the main reasons why i believe we live eternally and this life on this planet is just a "ride in an amusement park"

RIP the great Bill Hicks, until the day we see him again.

Respect to Letterman for being big enough to admit he was totally wrong and even more respect to Bills mother for going on there. There will never be anyone who comes close to being as funny as Bill Hicks

That's right Letterman. He looks great, he looks tremendous AND now you look like a total jerk. You fucking idiot.

My own guess (and it IS just a guess) about why Letterman has decided to apologize is that he might have heard from his Hollywood pals that the long-mooted Bill Hicks movie is actually going ahead, and that they're going to go in hard on Letterman's decision to cut Hicks, and Hicks's anger about it. Letterman forestalled that by issuing the apology. On the other hand he could be being totally sincere.

sorry to be pedantic( realy i am ) but bill was being ironic not homophobic. ie gay guys disgust me but gay women arouse me is i think a statement about societies hypocrasy and double standards regarding homosexulalty...or are you focusing on the enitial laughter at the perceived homophobic punchline that didnt materialise?

Yeah, when he said it was wrong and they clapped. They didn't know he was joking.
