Eric and Alucard are not the same person. They met face to face in Judgment. And the Alucard Spear was used as a weapon to support the whip. Alucard invented the spear, and gave it to House Lecarde as a gift, because they have blood ties to the Belmont clan as do House Morris. It is possible that House Lecarde were created as a result of Maria consoling Alucard at the end of SOTN. But that's just speculation.

He didn't kill Dracula, Dracula is Mathias Cronqvist.
Walter Bernhard is only the vampire who gave his soul to Mathias when Leon defeated him, this turned Mathias into a vampire. Then he wants Leon to join him but Leon denies his offer. Then he tells Death to kill Leon and Mathias goes away by morphing into a bat. After the fight, Leon decides that the Belmont family will hunt the forces of darkness, and Mathias calls himself Lord Dracula.
