Here's something I've wondered about for many years about this song. When the man says about his wife "She sure can cook," is he talking about cooking in the kitchen, or cooking in the bedroom? Those of you who remember the tune when it was new, how did people around you generally take it to be?

I think the ideal was that you get a husband who has a good job and a wife who could cook and clean. The was supposedly to keep the couple together. Unfortunately we all know that reality isn't like that! lol
