I knwo Carlotta is supposed to be a diva, but do they have to practically turn this into a comedy? It's kind of stupid because for all her arrogance, Carlotta is a great talent.

I wonder how well Mariah Carey would have done in this role.

in this part of the play/movie the character (former leading singer) is insulted by the two men giving into the phantom's demand of having christine in the lead roles, however the two producers are fed up with the phantom and want carlotta back, so the song is pretty much the two producers sucking up to her in order to have her persom again.

Margret Preece (the singing voice of Carlotta) is astonishing with this song! Her voice is brilliant and I can't help but wonder why she didn't play the role herself. Don't get me wrong, Minnie Driver was a great actress for this role. But I guees I always thought an actor for musical should do both. Simon Callow & Ciran Hinds are great too. They impressed me more then I expected. By the way, what note does Carlotta hit at the end? It's incredible!
