Freedom of speech trumps the relatively new idea that minorities have a right to be free from offence
As people have already said it's a double standard anyway because the crime of "offending" someone only exists if the person who takes offence comes from a percieved "oppressed" minority
If a straight white man takes offence he has no recourse to charge so no one else should. Oh and by the way I'm from a minority

I also find it interesting that the only 'freedoms' some people want to protect are those of White, heterosexual males. It seems like nobody cares about the freedoms of gay people wanting to express public affection without being subjected to humiliating comments. Remember, these women only heckled after Guy hassled them for the crime of (gasp) kissing. Human rights tribunal? I don't know. But I do think we need to question a society that encourages and rewards verbal gay bashing.
