The first 3 were just train wrecks

Castlevania 1 had clunky control not to mention the thing when you fall back when you get hit. Death is fucking impossible without holy water.

Castlevania 2 was just crazy on what they expected you to know but they really made the game a lot easier with bosses and levels.

Castlevania 3 just multiplied the difficulty of 1 by 3 and added the clunky controls.

It didn't really start getting good until 4, then bloodlines and sotn came. Great games.

I find this weird. In my NES collection, I have 1 and 3, but not 2. Does that mean anything?

Because 2 is a mockery of the series.

Castlevania II, to be honest, is kinda like an exact equivalent to Zelda II.

Both were radically different than the first, both were the second game in the series, the games before them are considered to be better, while the third games are considered to be some of the best in the series, yet they still keep many good qualities (such as graphics, music, and the nostalgia factor.).

Zelda II is the first thing I think of when I see Simon's Quest, actually.
