Considering Master Asia can easily take down a mech on foot with a headband, we'll assume he uses it when sparring with God and The Four Horsemen.

Considering that the only other character to pull this off was "Nightmare Zero" from Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally (a little over a decade after Master Asia's debut), that's not too farfetched...
