I don't see how the way she folds the prefolds has anything to do with whether her babies would get diaper rash or not. If you mean the cloth liners... I don't use them either and my son didn't get a single diaper rash the entire first year of his life.
Neither of us use pins, btw. We use Snappis. ;-)

when you use cloth diapers, i get that it jsut pee so long as his food is liquid but what are you going to do when it's solid? do u dump the leavings in a bag before you put them in a washer? does it work out to be cheaper then disposable?
Once the solid stage starts, you take a quick 10-30 second trip to the bathroom, shake out the poo into the toilet (no need to dunk the diaper... yuck!), and it goes in the dirty diaper pail. It's very easy, and very little mess or work involved. ;-)

It wasn't too tight. His tummy wasn't compressed. If he were in any kind of discomfort, he would have let me know. ;-)
