Seagate sucks too now...any of there drives 750GB or higher have uber high failure rates...older ones were great but now WD and hitachi have taken the lead in quality...

You still cant argue with Seagate's warranty policy. 5 years on an external drive? Western Digital has what? 1 year limited? WD's warranty consists of telling you that your hard drive is dead then offering data recovery for $250

i never looked at the external ones, i only buy internals and then seperate external shells to put them in. the 320gig Seagates i bought a while ago had a good 5yr warranty and i havent had any issues with them, but again all the new larger seagate models i see on newegg have only 3 year warrentys unless you go for an enterprise drive with is much more expensive, and then they all have bad reviews and horror stories...and the 640gig WD i just bought has a 5year warrenty.
