I just love the Zelda series! My faves were Link to the past, Links awakeing, Orcarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Despite that im actually an old school gamer. But as a kid couldn't understand legend of Zelda but Zelda 2, I got far in but couldn't beat till bout 4 years ago when I bought Zelda collections. I still have to beat seasons, ages, twighlight princess and.........well hmm...the one for DS.
Timeless game, and the best in a great Series. Darker, more challenging than the rest, a true adventure-quest game. Spent countless nights limping back to town to save with half a health bar left..
Christmas '88 - unwrapped NES with Super Mario/Duck Hunt and the Legend of Zelda II: Adventure of Link. That gold cartridge looked and felt like a treasure. Stayed up all night with my dad playing, he bought Legend of Zelda and Kid Icarus a couple days later. Best Christmas ever :)
Same, I remember forcing my mom to let me open presents at 2 o' clock in the morning because I just knew she got me zelda2. I ended up playing it all night & slept most of that Christmas day away.
This was my favorite game ever released on the NES, I have gone back & replayed it a bunch of times. Definitely the most challenging Zelda, but also most memorable. Anybody who didn't like this game should really give it another chance.
LOL, I got my first NES the same year, actually Christmas Eve '88. I was 8 years old. Mario/Duck Hunt. All night, me and my brother played it. By the time 8am came to open presents, we didnt want to stop playing. Not long afterwards we went out and got Zelda and Zelda II. I absolutly LOVE Zelda II, its my favorite game in the series as well. I agree dude. The Christmas of 1988 was THE BEST EVER!
