David's album : David Soul -- 1976 "Don't give up on us, baby ", written by Tony Macaulay, was a worldwide smash, spending four weeks at #1 on the UK singles chart in January 1977 and a single week on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1977. "I made an album in San Francisco for Private Stock but there was nothing suitable for a single. The company told me that Tony Macaulay had some good tunes and he came over and played me Don't Give Up On Us and Going In With My Eyes Wide Open. Within 10 days, I had leant the songs and recorded them and Tony had mixed them and taken them back to England. They bazoomed to the top and they are 2 songs which have stood the test of time." Soul recorded a new version of the song in 2004.

I can relate DERedhead65. I'm 43 and I remember seeing him for the first time when I was 9 back in 1975. Not much into the music--a little too "soft" for me but he had the sex appeal that drove me wild for decades. I never had posters of him but I do have a framed pic. of him on my desk. Can't help it--I need a daily dose of "cuteness" to look at.
MY crush back then... sighs... ah David/Hutch wow... what a GORGEOUS man he was and STILL is in my book... I remember these shower scenes, WELL lol... I used to fantasize about David/Hutch back then BIGTIME and his posters/S & H covered the walls of my bedroom. I was young then, don't laugh, but I KNOW YOU WILL, LOL, (embarrassed) lol, I used to also carry a pic of him in my wallet lol... I am 44 now... such Great memories of my youth and he was a big part of that... NICE! "Here's to David"!
