Polls show that between one-third and one-half of Americans still believe that there is "no solid" evidence of global warming, or that if warming is happening it can be attributed to natural variability. Others believe that scientists are still debating the point. Join scientist and renowned historian Naomi Oreskes as she describes her investigation into the reasons for such widespread mistrust and misunderstanding of scientific consensus and probes the history of organized campaigns designed to create public doubt and confusion about science. If the cause of warming is mostly natural, then there is little we can do about it. We cannot control the inconstant sun, the likely origin of most climate variability. None of the schemes for greenhouse gas reduction currently bandied about will do any good; they are all irrelevant, useless, and wildly expensive:
carbon≠poison or greenhouse gas. $cam, plain and simple. Science: satellites show earth radiating same amount of heat over 20 years. WHERE IS THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT?
We make 90 million tons of EXTRA CO2 each DAY. That's 3.4% of the natural production. Atmospheric CO2 is rising 2ppm per year (0.5%), TWICE that of 50 years ago, and CO2 levels are 35% above the highest levels for 650,000 years.
85% of our CO2 is dissolved in the oceans, and in 30 years CO2 will reach 450ppm which most oceanographers warn will acidify oceans enough to interfere with the growth of many calcium carbonate forming planktons and corals. They make the base of the ocean's food chain.
Before you run with that because your brain cells cannot handle any more thought process it's not that we wanted the oil dumbshit! or even control over it. WE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DID NOT WANT THIS DICTATOR WHO THREATENED US ON A DAILY BASIS WITH THOSE CREDENTIALS AND SITTING ON THAT BANK ACCOUNT WAITING FOR THE WORLD OIL RESERVES TO RUN LOW. That would make saddam KING! Right? use some thought process people. Would you have really wanted your kids to deal with this issue when they come of age.
chestdocmd??? you are an idiot!! just like all of the other idiots out there that claims bush lied to them. Bush never lied to any of you!! you are an idiot still claiming that we went into Iraq because of the oil. People like you without any kind of thought process is just childish. You are right but not in the context you think you claim and really feel on why we went to war with Iraq. PAY ATTENTION !! We went into Iraq because he was sitting on the second largest oil reserves in the world..

It's been getting cooler, hello?
