Go to wikipedia and look up "wormholes" - they show a picture there of how a wormhole would be like a "folding" of space (or spacetime). Here's my video about wormholes:

Well, I prefer to think of it as being the way that apparently distant points can be instantaneously connected together without violating the speed of light limit for our universe. As per the "ant on the newspaper" example, the fold allows the ant to instantaneously jump from one place on his newspaper to another. Are you familiar with the experiments demonstrating the entanglement of particles, atoms, and even molecules? Or Wheeler's Delayed Choice experiment?
