I would describe the choreography here as lethargic and ungraceful.

Huh? Wasn't the composition a bit different?
In this composition ...I think.. you can't dicern the shifting time signature?
(But it could be, that I've only forgotten this music..)
And...the ballet.. is that modern..or art or something?
At the beginning they looked so clumsy.. ó.ò
And why is the hair of the women open? In some way its disturbing.
Despite that I like this play ^-^

The music, choreography and costumes are so completely different because when Stravinsky composed this, it was not supposed to be a normal ballet, but rather a look back to the origins of music and dance and thus very primitive. It was (and is) completely revolutionary. The people who did this version are just continuing in the same vein as Stravinsky and co.

I'm afraid I just cannot agree with you. Stravinsky went about creating the most authentic music/dance experience possible. I find the current interpretation of his music quite conventional actually. Normal dress, normal dance, even the sexual expression is very normal for our time. It contains absolutely no originality I'm afraid.

Try composing this, then you'd have a different thought.

Well, sex and sexuality are very primitive.

Stravinsky wrote in a way to make it SOUND like the time signitures are very simple, despite their actually being very difficult. If you could hear the changes, it would defeat the purpose of his style of writing.

I do not think it is a "Freemason Pagan" ritual, but rather a Pagan ritual, originating most likely from Russia, where Stravinsky was born.
