Sorry, I didn't mean the ignorant words i spewed about Blacks in America, or American Blacks...I was just replying angrily to some dickhead. I apologize once more. As for your president, i believe that he's just a puppet for a white power organization and as for Hollywood and 'black owned' business, the Zionist Jews are in control of that. They're trying to keep Black peeps in check. Your opinion on Nollywood is your opinion.

Thats right I forgot about the backers and director were not affiliated with Bollywood. Still a good movie. True the quality of a LOT of the movies is out right horrible but you have to start from somewhere, also if your looking to see people like you on the screen or TV these movies go a long way.

LIke me??? I am not Nigerian, so these stories dont reflect my life or situation...Not all black people look or act like Nigerians.....Thats like saying if you are White American or English, and I say, watch French cinema, so you can see people like yourself...not all whites are the same, you cannot generalise....I see people like me in westernised movies, not in Nigerian.

I wasnt refering to you I was refering to Nigerians, and the idea that people want to see themselves on screen. If you live in a society were the dominate images and history taught does not look anything like you then it is only natural to seek out those images that do in order to foster high self esteem and counter the inadvertent inferiority complex that is bred into you when you are a minority. As a black person I seek out black and as a Haitian I seek out those images.

@clnmike I am also black but raised in the west, and I understand what you are saying, but I seek out images of westernised blacks as that is my culture and not somebody living in a continent that my ancestors came from hundreds of years ago. The only thing I have in common with somebody from Nigeria is my roots and heritage, watching these movies is interesting, it teaches me how Nigerians live and play, but blacks have different stories and cultures not just African

When specific images of you are lacking you tend to latch on to the next best thing. I hold a pan-African view of black people so i look at it all.

@clnmike My father was carribean, but I am british, so when I see British blacks or even African Americans who have a similiar culture to us, on screen I see people like myself, but when I watch African or carribean films I see people that look like me and share my roots, but are different to me in a whole bunch of ways, so it is hard to relate when you see certain behaviours that are alien to yours, even if the person is the same colour
