Mariah Carey FIRST 2 ALBUMS were predominately pop/soft rock so don't come at me with that smart ass quote. if she really wanted to start off with r&b she would've presented herself in that light when she first came on the scene in 1990. all she did was make a transition over to r&b in the mid-90s so get your story straight.

you seriously need to get your story straight while you trying to throw out smart ass quotes. First of all, I said PREDOMINATELY pop/rock meaning most of those tracks came from that genre and some of which were r&b!!!! second of all, Vision of Love was #1 on both the POP AND R&B CHARTS!!!!

The point is, R&B was her first love, inspiration, and had she had her own way, it would've been her first and only musical style. Now she's making music SHE likes, and if you prefer Pop Mariah, there are 8 or 9 albums you can choose from. Only with/after Charmbracelet did she begin to *exclusively* make R&B music.
