---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Jake Tyler never goes looking for trouble, but it always seems to find him. Since his father's death, it's everywhere he turns. Freshly transplanted from a sleepy Iowa town to the heat and flash of new-money Orlando, Florida, Jake seems headed for even more rocky terrain as he is pulled into an underground fighting league — a kind of fight club for teens.
With the help of his new group of friends — a fight and life-savvy coach, a free-thinking and adventurous girlfriend, and a scrawny but charming best friend — Jake manages to rise above the chaos around him. But just as he's beginning to feel like he's in control, his world is turned upside down once again by an unrelenting campaign to get him back in the ring.
From Jeff Wadlow, director of the stylish teen thriller "Cry Wolf" and winner of the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival for his short film "The Tower of Babble," comes this ripped-from-the-headlines story, in the tradition of such inspirational classics as "The Karate Kid," "Rocky" and "The Fast and the Furious."
In the end, when the safety of his friends and family is on the line, Jake has only one option. Never. Back. Down. w00t!

Cmon the gloves are only to protect your knuckles not the face....So it's sorta pretty much the same thing.. And don't try to say that one movie is ''tougher'' than the other because of the gloves But seriously wich movie was the best movie overall? Never Back Down was... I see more people say more good comments about Never Back Down Than in Fighting.. A lot of peaople did'nt like the movie.... I KINDA liked it but I expeceted it to be waaayy better
now in this movie it shows the rules and everything but in Fighting they show like the DEF JAM FIGHT FOR NEW YORK ... and the guy here just learns how to fight and has a good fighting rival in the start....so the story is like the first karate' kid movie...and in fighting he was a wrestler for his dad and gained a rival with his teammate(wrestler).....thats better.....the stroy is but the fighting stuff is not .....
@rebumblebee dude fighting is not better....i was dissapointed when i saw that movie cus the trailer looked kool but then the movie sucked.... i think this is the best recent fighting movie..but the best fighting movie ever is Blood Sport...so yea never back downis better than fighting
This movie is awesome! And I love how just bc it didn't spark some peoples interest they're so quick to say it's lame, but yet if they had an MMA guy right there or UFC or whatever it may be they'd be quiet as hell bc they're all pansies that can't respect others and things that might not be something they like. Fags *cough*
