Hahn's comments diminish her more than she realized and no matter how good her technique may be, in no way does she have the wealth of emotiions of Neveu.

Too bad she had nothing positive to say. Character and superior talents are inextricably linked.

I am aware that this series is not all inclusive, but I think serious artisans/admirers of the violin need to be aware of some of the other unmentioned great violin composers; Rode, Spohr, Kreutzer, Beriot, Ernst, Ole Bull, Vieuxtemps, Wieniawski & Sarasate. They all made great contributions but unfortunately were left out. Here is a Bravo!!! To All of the Unmentioned!!!

Excuse me, I ABSOLUTELY disagree with everyone who says Gitlis is crazy. But, I might have had that opinion if I had not listened to his Bartok #2 with Jascha Horenstein.

Hilary Hahn's insight into Ginette Neveu's playing is about as interesting as her own playing....

good one. she even talks in a boring, prudish manner. no wonder she likes bach so much; it renders opaque how much she lacks on the interpretive side of things. and her bach is usually pretty boring too.

I hate how what gitlis says in french seems of what little I do understand, important, and how I can't understand it.

He is crazy though, yes.
