The M on racer x and the big M on the mach 5 were actually meant for the muishi co. which was the last names of speed and racer x (japanese version) and the G on speed's shirt stands for Go. which is speed's first name in the japanese version. Now everyone knows =]

I always wondered why Speed never got suspicious that Racer X had the same M on his costume that was on the hood of the Mach 5.

i bet the movie didn't even mention that it was based on a show. i think some idiots think that the director created all this. they don't know their source material.

Saw the 2006 (or so) Speed Racer movie. It has excellent writing, excellent storyline, excellent cast. My only complaint is the reverse of most complaints one hears about CGI movies these days: the CGI looked too fake and over-the-top, way too fast, and could not make out what was happening, but the story was strong.
