No it actually broke and they had to repair it I think they are going to turn it on again so it can work during the summer time.

ahh ? operational was confirmed though wasn't it ? tbh the carbon footprint implications worry me although not as much as why 0.0000009% the speed of light would not be obtainable after the other 99.9999991 had been reached ? then again I worry too much, say something positive please ;]

because the increase in energy required for the last .0000009% is infinite, you can never accelerate something to c.
