"I just did this for a laugh and didn't expect it to work. I went to microsoft.com using IE4Linux ( http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/p... ) and tried to download Windows Defender, on Xubuntu. Of course, I was asked to do the Genuine Advantage test. I used the alternate authentication method (IE4Linux doesn't support Active X), downloaded and then ran the genuine advantage application (which took quite a while to start). It gave me a code that I pasted into the authentication box, and to my surprise it verified me and forwarded me to the download page. This just goes to show how rubbish they're validation software is. I thought it was funny though, so I've uploaded a recording of it to rapid share, which you can get here: http://rapidshare.com/files/37580147/... (the file is about 10MB, so it might take a while to get)"

Windows' marketshare owes more to Microsoft's business relationships than to the quality of the product. It's creaky, filled with bloatware, prone to crashes and BSoDs, and highly susceptible to viruses and malware. That lands Windows squarely in the suck column as far as I'm concerned.
No computers come pre installed with Linux unless you are a builder and you build them that way, which builders all go with Windows. And After mid of 2007 most computers started going with crappy Vista, after 2008 XP was no longer an option downgrade on places like Tiger Direct for a custom built machine. You can choose a computer with no OS installed and then install an OS if you have an XP disc or Linux, cheaper as you dont pay for an OS if you already have a disc.
You have my opinion and I have mine. For these two months,I've done a lot of stuff with my PC.I have installed Gentoo, with a total of 5 kernel recompilations (and NOT genkernel),Fedora 10,Ubuntu 8.04, 9.04 and Kubuntu 9.04 Perhaps yes,it might just suck. But I do not care.I use Windows, and Linux in my PC. It it so bad?
Nope, I don't think that's wrong. Sometimes people need certain programs for business, or play. I'm just lucky enough to have them all working or have a better alternative.
I'm just saying that liking Windows for Windows seems oddly contrived from an objective standpoint.
But yeah, Windows isn't so bad it's unusable, or no one would put up with it. We all like to play a few Gameguard MMOs from time to time, right? XD

There must be some store in which they sell PC's with Linux Pre-Installed... :P
