thats pretty bad considering a person just paid $2500 for a G4.. also they never clearance their stuff. they coulda lowered their price a tad if they knew they were gonna come out with the G5 5months later.. IBM, Dell, Gateway, HP, they all drop their prices months before a new model debuts.. same for ipods.. they have never NEVER dropped the prices, u can buy one right now and watch next summer it wont even be on the apple website
ur right but i didnt mean 5 years ago.. i meant they were around for 5 years.. but the point i was making was this: say you bought a Mac G4 around Xmas, then the very next spring they premier the G5, at that moment they literally dump all upgrades and updates for the G4 then ur left in the cold.. u call apple support they tell u to dump the drive and buy one that can update to the G5 OsX..
g4s and g3s are older than 5 years, i have a g5 that is 5 years old. the same goes for any computer. however that 5 year old mac that i payed about £900 for is now going for about £300-£500 on ebay. you wouldn't get that for a 5 month old pc.
I dont like the way Apple just dumps their old systems for new ones almost overnight.. anyone remember G3's and G4's? , didnt think so.. they were supposed to be the future of technology and within 5 years are not even relevent...near impossible to upgrade to the latest Apple software after 2 thousand dollars they charge, you're stuck with it... just buy an ipod but watch in a year they will make it obsolete for next one
Been A MCP for 11 years as well as an Apple Certified pro... they both friggin crash at the same rate.. with the same problemsApples macbooks(or powerbooks) are top notch, their iMacs are great except for compatibility issues esp with web-related stuff..
I remember 1998 I was 5 in sumner school and macs allways amazed me. Still do they where the first to have a screen inside the computer. Some say pc's are better for gameing and stuff pc's are better for video editing macs. I rember useing the old old macs
