I've always thought that on a water treadmill, which is usually used for therapy, take most of the pressure off of the horse's hooves, ankles, hocks, and so on, but at the same time still works out the muscles.

These are by far the best way of training but at the price tag of $200,000 to your front door it is not just what anyone can do.

Hey!! I could to it at home!! Not with a treadmill, but there's a lake right at the end of my backyard, so I can take my future horse in the water and train his muscles!! YEAH! XD

Look up Penn Valley Equine Aquatics on u tube. They have a good, educational video on the use of the AquaPacer. It is also used at U of Tenn, U of Minn and many top rehab clinics in the us. At Hassinger Equine in Aberdeen, NC, the AquaPacer has conditioned Rolex 3 day competitors, top dressage horses, Olympic competitors and many top Quarter Horses. It works!

First off why would the horse be pushing backwards last time I check when a horse moves it's leg it's in a forward motion.Yes that motor would offer maybe a 1% increase of slack on the horse but most of the pressure would be taken off due to the movement of the water from the horse moving around in the same motion. But this form of treatment does work those mandatory muscles and tendons.A lot of the pressure would be taken off the fetlock ,hocks and knees.I know someone who owns a swimming place

But wouldn't the water create some resistance? Or not enough to have any benifit?
