Absolute Perfection. By the way I think the reason why Roy held the white dove captive was because it was supposed to symbolize that he too was captive in his life and that he was only freed from the pains of living after he died, after he accepted his end. They really outdid themselves with this film.

Yeah, I agree. And I think it's representative of his soul being freed, because, as you say, he was trapped. But the white dove symbolises the release of his soul, emphasising his humanity.
