So did Weird Al when he took Coolio's song Gangster's Paradise and made it his own. But Sting didn't cry to Puff Daddy about re-making it like Coolio cried to Weird Al.

And Sting's version is about control, big-brother surveillance, and stalking...read his interview about the song. :)
