no its "the new batman adventures" its after the superman team took over batman series as well, everyone changed in appearance, and the show sucked after that too
the damage he suffered from his rather chilling bath was too big. in order to survive he had to remove the undamaged part. everything exept his head that is
@ToasterPig most consider it the same series considering that the complete batman the animated series set also has TNBA on the dvd its pretty accurate to say that its really just the same series with a different name.
That is true to a point. They maintain the same continuity, and one was made as a deliberate continuation of the first. But there are subtle differences. The art style was made more cartoony for TNBA and there was more emphasis put on Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing. The mood was slightly lighter. I know im nitpicking but to me there are enough differences to refer to these series separately.
@ToasterPig Actually I think the New Batman Adventures were more mature. Batgirl dies (although in a dream). And Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, and Baby Doll were made scarier. And there's more innuendo
@ToasterPig I agree TNBA didn't have the same mood that TAS and never captured the emotion of the characters that TAS did. Because of that I only have volumes 1-3 of TAS since as a child I didn't like TNAS nearly as much as TAS.
Despite the fact that I didnt like TNBA as much as TAS, I still think it was a worthy successor to TAS. In fact all the Batman series in that particular continuity (TAS, TNBA, Batman Beyond) managed to maintain a generally high level of quality. They also stayed pretty true to the characters for the most part. I loved the cranky old Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond.
The newer Batman franchises (The Batman, Batman: Brave and the Bold) are the piss poor ones.
