Stephen Hawking - God, the Universe, & Everything Else / Carl Sagan, Arthur C. Clarke (1988) British journalist and TV host Magnus Magnusson tackles big questions about our universe in this educational colloquium that brings together three of the 20th century's leading scientific thinkers: theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, astronomer Carl Sagan and author Arthur C. check out Einstein by Walter Isaacson Its a biography of Einstein but it has a lot of his theories in it. and it might help you understand said theory as well as the man. Check your local library;) also A Brief History of Time by Stephen hawking
heh...I've heard Carl say that too... probably so, a super-advanced creature with full understanding of the cosmos would probably see little difference in "advancement" of any creatures on this planet.
They might note that one creature is being rather destructive, though..)
To be honest, uturn, me too. And, there's nothing wrong with that. Like Dr. Sagan said, as humans, we've evolved an intuitive understanding of nature based on the context of our experience, but that experience is insignificant compared to the grand scale of the cosmos.
So to the 4thD folks, the expansion is not in all directions. is that a fair paraphrase? Our expansion might look to them as a spill of fluid on the floor would look to us...sound about right?
I think of water/air separation... Fish move in 3D yet the atmosphere above is not known. Water spreads, atmosphere still separates.
I guess I'm stuck on Newton action/reaction laws of universal motion
It isn't really my place to comment on your situation, but in the hope it might serve to help I would say this. You can teach your daughter critical thinking without teaching her any theories that might upset your wife. Good luck, and be patient.
