This film was the best film of 1895 it won all 11 academy awards grammy awards tony awards and earned 2.5 billion dollars gross revenue, quite a profit considering its 50 cent budget
i thought the first film on earth was of some horse carriages going down a street....well to be honest iv seen lots of "the very first film ever" films so im not inclined to believe any of them, i know one of them was but as for which one? different people say different ones
When people first saw this film in theaters.. they ran out because they thought the train was going to crush them lol must have been amazing to see this for the first time

I cannot believe some of these comments, come on people, it's like DanielRock said, it's the first film on Earth...They were still figuring out the technical stuff, you gotta wait for it before you start putting meaning into it.
That said, it must have been interesting, watching all the freaked out people running out of the theater to call other people to come see this funky new invention heheh...
