Ummm... Gough Whitlam had little or nothing to do with Expo '88. Joh was the one who made the successful bid and brought it here. This and the Comm Games '82 were going against the flow at the time because most cities shied away from big events due to the failure of Montreal's Olympics. Llew Edwards was the one who was put in charge of the concept and turned it into a huge success.
