"Salt of the Earth" could have been better, but "Sympathy for the Devil" was excellent

More pretentious and silly posturing by Jagger. Nice rhythm section on "Sympathy." Terrible, unconvincing vocals by both Richards and Jagger on "Salt." The Stones should not have been the clowns at this "circus."

To me, it's ironic to read that Mick wasn't happy with the Stones' sound at the Circus because I'd sure love him to offer any other live Stones recording that is as good as this! This is great, great Stones, before Mick's stage behavior became a parody of himself, and his voice is strong. Keith is at this peak, and the rest of the band is tight - even Brian. Mick would love for the Stones to sound anything like this now!
