It's all true and Kuwait is exactly the same. If you have any concerns about social justice, human rights, the environment, women's rights, preventing terrorism, do not do business with these places and don't go there. These are the most backward and cruel places on earth.

manoverd: people defend dubai because of two reasons. a) most people there are there because they couldn't leave their 3rd world countries to immigrate to one of the western countries and think this is "almost the same thing" or b) they are westerners that couldn't make it at home so they fake their resumes and references and make an easy life there for themselves with the continuous ad on their faces as "I'm white!". Why not fiercely protect that which is easy?!?

dubai is a vertically layered hierarchical society that has deplorable standards compared to a western country. money can't buy class and change in society takes forever. it's too sad that they couldn't raise the standards of the migrant indians, etc. while slowing down growth a decade or two. a shame really.

I couldn't agree more on how crap Dubai is. Adding to the negative. There is so little to do in Dubai you can go to several malls...and....and...oh. Labour workers are all sex deprived and will all stare at women AND men. Construction will never be finished as soon as they finish something they just dig it back up again (residential area roads) rent for a two up two down 'Villa' rose to 4000dhs a month last year. Do not move here. Vacation sure but don't live.

and there are no taxes in dubai so it beats america, its not 120 degrees all year, only at max its 120 at least its 40 degrees and most of the year its 70-90 degrees, and i live there and its a wonderfull place to live

Why do people defend Dubai so much? It took more than half a million workers to build some megalomaniac's (Sheik Mo) vision. They work for less than 10 bucks a day! Can't go home because their passports are confiscated and they can't strike! Why do these idiots that defend Dubai get upset when the truth is revealed?

your a fool u know nothing of dubai, and the workers get payed more now because there are rights for workers, let me ask u something how was chicago,new york, los anglises, and Atlanta built? By mexican slaves payed less than dubai workers because of taxes, and treated like animals. So y do people defend america??
