Gloria performed this often in the SF Bay Area with the Psycotic Pineapple. She actually has a good voice; first time I actually saw her perform was in front of 2000 people at Zellerbach Auditorium, doing a duet of The Tubes' Mondo Bondage with Jon Rubin of The Rubinoos. First time I heard her, though, was with Psycotic Pineapple doing "White Rabbit" off-key and I thought "What the **** was THAT?!!" Whenever she'd do her off-key thing, she'd get standing ovations. That take a lot of balls!
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have loved this song for half my life, and never knew until now that it was performed live.
I have a cassette recording of John Wesley Harding playing the Fluffy 7" on an Atlanta college radio station in the early 90's when he was in for an in-studio performance. He said he picked it up at a record store for ten cents, and he left it with the radio station.
I just listened back to my cassette, and it doesn't say whether it was Album 88 (Georgia State) or WREK (Georgia Tech). I wasn't the one who actually recorded it; I got a copy from someone else.
That's awesome that John Wesley Harding spawned a whole subculture of "Fluffy" fans in Atlanta. One of these days, I'll post his radio commentary about the song here on YouTube.
If anyone knows for sure whether it was Album 88 or WREK on which JWH played the song, please let me know.
